Okpik Arctic Village Overnight Stay Winter

DAY 1

We will pick you up in Inuvik and take you for a drive along the Inuvik-Aklavik ice road to our Village 16 km north of Inuvik where our dog sled is ready to bring you for an introductory dog sled ride.

Your local guide will show you around and you will learn more about life on the land. Participate in activities such as snow shoeing, checking the trapline and interacting with our sled dogs. Enjoy a delicious tea in the warm tipi and listen to stories from our locals before going out on the lake to build your own igloo for the night! At the end of the day we will enjoy a cultural meal together before you get to spend a night in your igloo under the northern lights.

  DAY 2

  Join us in the warm cabin, tent or tipi for breakfast. After breakfast you will have some free time to spend on an activity of your choice. Maybe take our sled dogs for a walk along the Tundra Trail or build another igloo. In the end of your experience we will bring you back to town.

As most our costs are incurred long before the actual trip, rental or tour takes place, we are bound to the following cancellation fees:

• 90 Days before tour start: Full refund
• 90 – 61 days before tour start: 75% refund
• 60 – 30 days before tour start: 50% refund
• 30 or fewer days before tour start: No refund possible

Exceptions to this cancellation policy cannot be made for any reason, including, terrorism, civil unrest or personal emergencies. If unforeseen circumstances require a change in itinerary, we will make every effort to work out an alternative solution. If for any reason we cannot start the tour, due to circumstances, including but not limited, to severe weather, mechanical breakdown or road closures, you will receive a full refund.
