For intrepid explorers, this 7-Day package is the ultimate Arctic Experience that will have you immersed in the epic culture, landscape, and adventure that you seek!

This is your adventure to seize as you push yourself physically and mentally, seeking and finding the gratitude that comes by conquering the Arctic.

As part of this Arctic Adventure you will get to herd 3000+ reindeer over the Arctic Tundra, visit the Historical village of Tuktoyaktuk, and snowmobile to the base of the famed geographical formation ’Pingos’ of the Canadian Pingo Landmark- with the second largest one in the world being at your door step!

You will be immersed in the culture and traditions of the Inuvialuit people as you experience cultural dinners with local Elders who will teach you about both their important history, and current ways of life. You will experience an unforgettable stay at a traditional whaling camp along the frozen Arctic Ocean, in route to your final destination, Herschel Island!

  • Day 1:

    Arrive by airplane to Inuvik, where your guides will greet you to begin an adventure 75km down the iconic, Mackenzie Ice Road to our reindeer base camp! Once arrived at the basecamp you’ll drop-off your luggage, enjoy some warm drinks and receive a quick lesson with the snowmobiles on the Ice Road!

    When everyone is comfortable on their snowmobiles and ready for adventure, we’ll head out towards the reindeer herd.

    Enjoying an hour-long snowmobile adventure through the Arctic Tundra, you’ll experience the vastness of this unique landscape and then arrive into a whole new level of epic, as you suddenly find yourself among 3000+ grazing reindeer, deep in the snow-covered hills!

    Here you will receive the first part of your herding experience in the Arctic, while you’re immersed in this surreal situation and the many awe-striking photo opportunities available to you before returning back to the basecamp.

    Now you can relax, enjoy great food, explore the area, check out the igloo, and just take in the scenery that surrounds you here in your Arctic ‘home’ for the next 3 days. Another surreal photo opportunity awaits with the potential of nature’s night-show; The Aurora Borealis! *Bring your ice skates with you, and skate on the Mackenzie Ice Road with the chance of skating under the Aurora!

    Day 2

    Wake up to ‘Northern Hospitality’ with coffee, tea and a hearty breakfast prepared for you, before venturing off on the snowmobiles with your Inuvialuit guides to explore the village of Tuktoyaktuk. After hours of snowmobiling through the vast and stunning Arctic Tundra, you will arrive at this pristine town along the Arctic Ocean with the majesty of towering Pingos in every direction. This surreal experience will provide you with many photo opportunities and memories for a lifetime!

    Settle into your personal bed & breakfast in Tuktoyaktuk and then get ready for another rich experience of authentic Arctic living as you will be attending a cultural dinner, prepared with local cuisine and accompanied by an Elder who will teach you about their culture, show you some ancient artifacts and also teach you how they were used throughout history by their people. You will also have an opportunity to see and try on some traditional clothing. This is an evening where you will begin to discover, understand and appreciate more deeply, the ways in which the unique landscape of The Arctic provides more than just a ‘setting’ for the Inuvialuit people, but how ‘everything is connected’ here.

    Day 3

    Wake up to this fresh Arctic morning and another hearty warm breakfast for you to enjoy.

    Get ready to continue on your Snowmobile adventure over the Arctic Ocean to a traditional whaling camp! On this morning ride you will again experience the splendor of snowmobiling for multiple hours through breathtaking landscapes over the Arctic Ocean and disappearing into the horizon lines.

    Once arriving at the whaling camp, the group will settle in and make a crackling fire to warm up before taking to the comforts of a nice warm dinner and warm drinks to partner. Here you will learn about the whaling camp and life in The Arctic as you are taught to play traditional Inuvialuit games, and have the opportunity to view the magical and mysterious Aurora Borealis!

    Day 4

    Wake up to the fresh Arctic air, enjoy your hearty breakfast and hot coffee or tea before we venture onwards again to Herschel Island by snowmobile!

    After another snowmobile adventure along with new sights and exciting scenery, you will arrive at your basecamp on Herschel Island.

    Here you will have the opportunity to explore the island and the natural wonders and ever-present wildlife. More excitement follows, as you will then participate in an igloo-building workshop. Feeling brave and adventurous? Spend the night in an igloo and be among the very few world travellers who can actually say they’ve done the same!

    Day 5

    Wake up and breathe in the fresh Arctic air! This is a full day on Herschel Island and it is your day to discover, wander and explore this true Arctic paradise! Among the adventures waiting for you are (but are not limited to): Wildlife viewing, ice-skating, ice-fishing, games, archery, photography, or simply taking in all that surrounds you as you unwind, resting those hard-working limbs, and tuning into the natural wonders waiting to be met here!

    Day 6

    Wake up and enjoy your fresh breakfast, fresh coffee and the fresh air. Soak up the scenery one last time and get ready to snowmobile over to the landing strip on Herschel Island. This is where you will catch your flight out, with your luggage, back to the town of Inuvik. Arriving at Inuvik Airport, you will be greeted at the airport and brought to your hotel room for the last night of your epic Arctic adventure!

    Day 7

    On this last half-day of your ultimate Arctic adventure, as endless as the Arctic horizon-lines, so are your opportunities for new discoveries here!

    This time is yours. A free half-day to see the town, chat with locals, purchase unique local souvenirs, and find your own Arctic adventure! Perhaps you’ll capture some photos with the famed ‘Igloo Church’ or experience the largest, most northern greenhouse in the world? Whatever the day holds, it’s yours to search for and find. A shuttle will then pick you up and take you back to the airport for your departing flight. Though it’s time to say goodbye to your guides, board the plane and climb into the sky, just remember:

    You may be leaving the Arctic, but after this trip, the Arctic will never leave you!

    • 90 – 61 days before tour start.
      • 75% refund
    • 60 – 30 days before tour start.
      • 50% refund
    • 30 or fewer days before tour start.
      • No refund possible

    Exceptions to this cancellation policy cannot be made for any reason, including, terrorism, civil unrest or personal emergencies. If unforeseen circumstances require a change in itinerary, we will make every effort to work out an alternative solution. If for any reason we cannot start the tour, due to circumstances, including but not limited, to severe weather, mechanical breakdown or road closures, you will receive a full refund.
