Travel the brand new Mackenzie Valley Highway from Inuvik to the coastal community of Tuktoyaktuk over the Mackenzie River and Arctic Ocean. Your local guide will share stories and history of the area, taking a tour by snowmobile he will point out local landmarks and other points of interest including the Lady of Lourdes Schooner, Traditional Sod House, local Churches, Distant Early Warning Site, Trans Canada Trailhead site. Take your snowmobile to the Pingo National Landmark where your guide will be explain how these amazing land formations our made as well as how the local Inuvailuit used them for look outs and Ice Freezer. Then its out onto the Arctic Ocean to experience the ice your guide will tell stories from traveling on the ice hunting and how our people survived in such a extreme environment. Then its back down the ice road to Inuvik for more photo opportunities and stories from your guide.

  • Leave the Tundra North Tours Office at 8:00am and depart down the brand new Mackenzie Valley Highway. You will drive down this geographically stunning roadway for 3 hours before reaching Tuktoyaktuk and the Arctic Ocean. Once you reach Tuktoyaktuk you will have a 2 hour town tour, before departing back down the highway to Inuvik.

  • Camera, Warm clothes, a bottle of water or a warm beverage and a snack and lunch is suggested.

  • As most our costs are incurred long before the actual trip, rental or tour takes place, we are bound to the following cancellation fees:

    • 90 Days before tour start: Full refund
    • 90 – 61 days before tour start: 75% refund
    • 60 – 30 days before tour start: 50% refund
    • 30 or fewer days before tour start: No refund possible

    Exceptions to this cancellation policy cannot be made for any reason, including, terrorism, civil unrest or personal emergencies. If unforeseen circumstances require a change in itinerary, we will make every effort to work out an alternative solution. If for any reason we cannot start the tour, due to circumstances, including but not limited, to severe weather, mechanical breakdown or road closures, you will receive a full refund.
